Contemplative Wisdom for Thirty Days

Day Six:

Do you have a calendar and put an X over days that passed? Maybe you ‘cancel’ out the day in your mind when it ends?

I used to put a line \ on the days that passed. It was easier to look and see where I was today, kind of like moving a marker in life of some sort.

What I realized, I was dishonoring the day events and the moments of time it held. By putting a marker, I was canceling out all I experienced. Why?

Each day, regardless of having notations, jobs to do, or blank space, consider honoring the day. It is a gift. You are here to receive it.

Now, I draw a line with a heart to acknowledge the time I was breathing.

How do you mark the days that pass?
