Therapeutic Humor; why would I want humor when I am in pain and sorrow?

Therapeutic humor; ‘oh please don’t take away my pain and suffering, I am completely comfortable with it’, really?  Are the ties of grief and despair at times so much that you are no longer living but existing?  When exactly was the last time you smiled?  I get it, life just sucks in all areas and you just simply do NOT want to hear the saying ‘a smile is just a frown turned upside down’ again, right?

What if I suggested that; a smile, a laugh, a tickle, a whimsical feeling, will make all the difference in the world, would you believe me?  Why not?  These feelings do not take away your pain, cure your illness, heal a heart or erase the present or past but to indulge in them for a second or two can bring healing energies to you both mentally and physically.  Can you deny yourself a few seconds a day to set aside your luggage, look upwards and breathe?  Perhaps, can you allow yourself this would be better to say?  You do deserve it and I encourage it.  Seconds can turn into minutes that create the hours of our days and so it is our life of living.

My radio show guest, Allen Klein, the World’s One and Only Jollytologist, is the best at therapeutic humor as he learned from experience what it felt like to be in pain and sorrow so deep that he needed a lift out.  Allen’s mission is to bring humor to those in great need of the warm touching lifting, physical benefits of humor, those in hospice, hospitals and other profound life challenges.  He has written over 18 books;  sharing  inspiring words of light and gratitude and stories of healing and humor. Healthcare professionals seeing life challenges with their clients and their own lives have Allen speak to them and suggest ways to use humor on a daily basis to touch each person that is open to smiling.

If you are willing to take a break from darkness and grief for a few seconds and read a page a day from one of Allen’s books The Art of Living Joyfully I would welcome you to life, you can be happy and live joyfully again. Therapeutic Humor is real and it is healing, a smile, a laugh, a whimsical feeling can be had at anytime by anyone no matter what, so reach out and open up to it, be at peace.
